Belief in the Divine Books

Hadith:

"Whoever among the People of the Book believed in the earlier scriptures and then also believed in the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) will receive a double reward." [Sahih Bukhari, Book of Jihad: 3011]

Explanation and Benefits:

Allah sent prophets to guide humanity and revealed numerous sacred books containing pure teachings. Anyone who believed in the books revealed by Allah and then accepted the prophethood of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) wholeheartedly is promised a double reward from Allah, as mentioned in the Hadith above.

The divine books that were revealed include the Torah, Injeel (Gospel), Zabur (Psalms), and the Quran. Additionally, the Scrolls of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) were also revealed by Allah. It is essential to have faith in all of these divine books, particularly the Quran. Any rejection or false belief about them, even in the slightest, compromises one's faith.

Allah has laid down certain conditions for those who seek guidance from the Quran. One of these is that a person must acknowledge all the divine books revealed by Allah through various prophets across different times and languages. As Allah says in the Quran:

"This is the Book; in it is guidance for those who believe in what has been revealed to you (Muhammad) and what was revealed before you." [Surah Al-Baqarah: 4]

Believing in the divine books means sincerely affirming that all of these scriptures were revealed by Allah and that they contain His true and divine words. And Allah knows best.
