Definition of Faith:

"Faith is to believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, and to believe in meeting Him, and to believe in the resurrection on the Last Day."

[Sahih Bukhari, Tafsir: 4777]

Key Points:

Affirming the Reality of the Hereafter:
To affirm the truth and reality of the Hereafter, Allah commanded His beloved Prophet to declare this with an oath. Allah says:

"The disbelievers say: 'Why is it that the Hour (of Judgment) does not come upon us?' Say: 'By my Lord, it will surely come upon you.'"

[Saba: 3]

Comprehensive Nature of the Term 'Akhirah' (Hereafter):

The term Akhirah encompasses a collection of beliefs, and to believe in this entire set is to have faith in the Hereafter. Rejecting any of these components while claiming belief in the Hereafter is considered outright disbelief.

Temporary Nature of This World:

◈ This world's current system is not eternal; rather, it is a test for us. Allah can dismantle it whenever He wills.

Human Responsibility:

◈ Humans were not created free and without purpose in this world. Instead, they are accountable before Allah for their beliefs, thoughts, morals, and actions.

Establishment of a New World After This One:

◈ With the end of this world, Allah will establish another realm. In this new world, all humans will be resurrected and held accountable for their deeds. They will be rewarded or punished accordingly.

True Criteria for Success and Failure:

◈ Success or failure in the Hereafter is not based on worldly prosperity or hardship. Rather, true success is determined by Allah’s judgment. The successful will enter Paradise, while the place of the unsuccessful will be Hell.
