The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
"The Pen has dried with (everything) you will encounter."
[Sahih Bukhari, Book of Nikah: Hadith 5076]
[Sahih Bukhari, Book of Nikah: Hadith 5076]
In this Hadith, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) explains the concept of Taqdeer (Predestination). Taqdeer signifies that Allah, even before the creation of anything, had complete knowledge of everything. He determined the attributes and functioning of all things, inscribing them in the Preserved Tablet (Al-Lawh Al-Mahfuz).
Allah Almighty states:
"Allah created everything and determined its measure."
[Surah Al-Furqan, 25:2]
Everything that has happened or will happen is within Allah's knowledge.
② Inscription in the Preserved Tablet:
Allah has documented every creation and its functioning in the Preserved Tablet according to His knowledge.
Concerning these two levels, Allah says:
"Do you not know that Allah knows whatever is in the heavens and the earth? Indeed, all of this is recorded in a preserved Book."
[Surah Al-Hajj, 22:70]
This verse emphasizes the perfection of Allah’s knowledge and its documentation, as further mentioned in a Hadith. The Prophet (peace be upon him) informed us that Allah had written the destinies of all creations 50,000 years before the creation of the heavens and the earth, while His Throne was over water.
[Sahih Muslim, Book of Qadar: Hadith 6748]
This belief in Taqdeer affirms that everything in existence unfolds according to Allah's eternal knowledge and decree, instilling confidence in His divine wisdom and plan.

Key Points:
The background of this Hadith is that Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) once approached the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I am a young man and fear that I may fall into adultery, yet I have nothing for marriage." The Prophet (peace be upon him) initially remained silent and did not respond. Abu Hurairah repeated his concern multiple times, to which the Prophet (peace be upon him) finally replied, "The Pen has dried regarding whatever you will do or encounter."[Sahih Bukhari, Book of Nikah: Hadith 5076]
