This excerpt is taken from the book Aḥkām wa Masā’il in the Light of the Qur’an and Sunnah by Shaykh Mubashir Ahmad Rabbani.
It is narrated from Sayyidunā ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“A man will come to you from Yemen whose name will be Uways. He will not leave Yemen except with his mother. There will be a white mark on his body. He will supplicate to Allah, and Allah will remove that whiteness except for the place of a dinar or a dirham. Whoever among you meets him should ask him to supplicate for your forgiveness.”
And in another narration, the Prophet ﷺ said:
“Indeed, the best of the Tābiʿīn is a man called Uways. He has a mother, and there is a white mark on his body. Tell him to supplicate for your forgiveness.”
From these authentic aḥādīth, it becomes clear that Uways al-Qaranī رضي الله عنه was a very pious servant of Allah and a righteous saint, and he was the best of the Tābiʿīn. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed the Companions to ask him for supplication.
As for the incident regarding him extracting his teeth, we have not found this reported in any authentic narration.
