❖ Question:
When I woke up from sleep, I found that I had experienced a wet dream. However, there were no traces of semen (mani) on my clothes. In this case, are my clothes considered impure?
❖ Answer:
All praise is due to Allah alone, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger, his family, and his companions…
The emission of semen through a wet dream or similar means does not render the clothing of the person impure, even if some semen had come into contact with the clothing. This is because semen (mani) is considered pure in Islamic jurisprudence.
However, from a recommended and hygienic perspective, it is appropriate to clean the part of the clothing where the semen was present, in order to maintain cleanliness and remove dirt or residue.
