Chapter: It is Better to Avoid Beating if the Purpose Can Be Achieved Without It
[Ṣaḥīḥ: Reported by Muslim 2328]
Narrated by ʿĀʾishah
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never struck anything with his hand — not a woman, not a servant — except when fighting in the path of Allah. And he never took revenge for any harm done to him personally, unless the sanctities of Allah were violated; in such a case, he would avenge it for the sake of Allah the Exalted.
✔ The Prophet ﷺ never used physical force for personal matters.
✔ He only showed physical firmness when it came to defending the sanctities of Allah.
✔ He led by example through patience, forbearance, and moral superiority.
✔ Achieving reform and results without resorting to beating is the preferred and superior method.
