❖ Question:
If a woman becomes pregnant and two or three months have passed into her pregnancy, and then she aborts the fetus due to fear of hunger and poverty—will this act be permissible for her or not?
❖ Answer:
If abortion is carried out out of fear of hunger or poverty, then it is considered among the major sins, because it involves having bad thoughts about Allah (i.e., doubting His provision and mercy).
Wa bi-llāhi al-tawfīq (And success is from Allah).
