8 Sunnah Methods of Applying Perfume — In Light of Authentic Ahadith

What is the Sunnah regarding the use of perfume (ʿitr)? Kindly explain with evidence.
("Aftūnā Maʾjūrīn")
Narrated by Anas (رضي الله عنه):
“The Prophet ﷺ never refused perfume.”
