Is it true that the influence of celestial bodies or stars at the time of a child's birth affects their destiny or life?
Is it permissible to have a horoscope written for a newborn child?
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ʾammā baʿd!
◈ Neither the Qur’an nor any authentic Hadith supports the idea that a star or planet present at the time of birth affects a person’s life, fate, or destiny.
◈ Believing such a thing is a form of misguidance and contradicts the foundational principles of Tawḥīd (Islamic monotheism).
◈ Preparing or requesting a birth chart (zā’ichah) is not permissible in Islam.
◈ It falls under the category of superstition, fortune-telling, and imitation of astrologers, all of which are harām (forbidden).
◈ Such actions reflect a lack of reliance upon Allah and a deviation from the Sunnah.
◈ Whoever has faith in the Qur’an and Sunnah should completely avoid engaging in these meaningless and impermissible customs.
◈ Not only are they void of Sharʿi foundation, but they also open the door to innovations, fabrications, and spiritual corruption.
✔ There is no room in Islam for the belief that stars influence human life or fate.
✔ Horoscope writing for children is categorically impermissible.
✔ A Muslim must place their trust in Allah alone and refrain from all forms of superstition and deviation.
