Written by: Qari Usama bin Abdussalam
In the Noble Qur’an and the sayings of the Prophet ﷺ, Allah Almighty has clearly identified those types of individuals whose actions are detested by Him. Below are ten prominent categories:
The Qur'an states:
(An-Nisāʾ: 48)
“Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills.”
The Qur'an states:
(An-Nisāʾ: 145)
“Indeed, the hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire.”
Allah has expressed His dislike for oppression:
“And Allah does not love the wrongdoers.”
The Prophet ﷺ said:
(Muslim: 91)
“Whoever has even a speck of arrogance in his heart shall not enter Paradise.”
The Qur'an mentions:
(Ghāfir: 28)
“Indeed, Allah does not guide one who is a transgressor and a liar.”
The Prophet ﷺ strictly forbade bribery:
(Tirmidhi: 1337)
“Allah has cursed the one who gives and the one who takes a bribe.”
The Qur'an warns against backbiting:
“Do not backbite one another. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would detest it.”
The Prophet ﷺ counted this among the gravest sins:
“Shall I inform you of the greatest of major sins?” They said: “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.” He said: “Associating partners with Allah and disobedience to parents.”
Allah commands the fulfillment of covenants:
(Al-Mā’idah: 1)
“O you who believe! Fulfill [all] contracts.”
Allah has promised severe punishment:
“Indeed, those who like that immorality should be spread among the believers will have a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter.”
Based on the Qur’an and Hadith, it is evident that Allah Almighty dislikes individuals who:
✔ Commit shirk
✔ Display hypocrisy
✔ Commit oppression
✔ Exhibit arrogance
✔ Lie and deceive
✔ Accept or give bribes
✔ Backbite or slander
✔ Disobey their parents
✔ Break their promises
✔ Spread indecency and immorality
If such individuals do not sincerely repent, they may be subjected to Allah’s punishment. Therefore, we must protect ourselves from these evil traits and encourage others toward righteousness.
