Allah ﷻ says:
﴿ أَمَّنْ يُجِيبُ الْمُضْطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيَكْشِفُ السُّوءَ ﴾
“Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil?”
[an-Naml: 62]
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
(( أن تعبد الله كأنك تراه، فإن لم تكن تراه فإنه يراك ))
"To worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you do not see Him, then [know that] He sees you."
Narrated by al-Bukhari (50) and Muslim (8)
Allah ﷻ says:
﴿ وَإِمَّا يَنْزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ نَزْغٌ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ ﴾
“And if an evil suggestion comes to you from Satan, then seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.”
[Fussilat: 36]
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"Satan comes to one of you and says: Who created this? Who created that? Until he says: Who created your Lord? If it reaches this stage, he should stop and seek refuge in Allah."
Narrated by al-Bukhari (2376)
These Adhkar have already been mentioned earlier in the book.
Allah ﷻ says:
﴿ وَالَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمَعَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ ﴾
“And those who strive for Us – We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good.”
[al-‘Ankabūt: 69]
Allah ﷻ says:
﴿ وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا ﴾
“And whoever fears Allah – He will make a way out for him.”
[at-Talāq: 2]
﴿ وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مِنْ أَمْرِهِ يُسْرًا ﴾
“And whoever fears Allah – He will make his matter easy for him.”
[at-Talāq: 4]
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“The best Jihad is the one where a person strives against his own self in the path of Allah.”
[Ṣaḥīḥ al-Jāmiʿ: 1129 – al-Ṣaḥīḥah: 1491]
Frequently, obsessive whispers are rooted in one's disobedience. Thus, one should turn to repentance and righteousness.
Do not pay attention to these intrusive thoughts, as acknowledging them strengthens their grip on the heart.
Let the thoughts fade by treating them with indifference until they gradually weaken and disappear.
Especially from those who are trustworthy in both religious and academic knowledge, to help in dealing with persistent waswasah.
❖ Treatment for Waswasah (Whispers and Obsessive Thoughts)
① Supplication and Humble Plea to Allah ﷻ
Allah ﷻ says:
﴿ أَمَّنْ يُجِيبُ الْمُضْطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيَكْشِفُ السُّوءَ ﴾
“Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil?”
② Conscious Awareness of Allah’s Watchfulness
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
(( أن تعبد الله كأنك تراه، فإن لم تكن تراه فإنه يراك ))
"To worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you do not see Him, then [know that] He sees you."
③ Seeking Refuge with Allah from the Evil of the Rejected Satan
Allah ﷻ says:
﴿ وَإِمَّا يَنْزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ نَزْغٌ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ ﴾
“And if an evil suggestion comes to you from Satan, then seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.”
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

④ Regularly Reciting Morning and Evening Adhkar
These Adhkar have already been mentioned earlier in the book.
⑤ Firm Resolve to Resist Waswasah and Striving Against the Nafs
Allah ﷻ says:
﴿ وَالَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمَعَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ ﴾
“And those who strive for Us – We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good.”
⑥ Maintaining Good Thoughts About Allah and Reflecting on Shar’i Texts
Allah ﷻ says:
﴿ وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا ﴾
“And whoever fears Allah – He will make a way out for him.”
﴿ وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مِنْ أَمْرِهِ يُسْرًا ﴾
“And whoever fears Allah – He will make his matter easy for him.”
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

⑦ Repenting from Sins, As Sins Often Lead to Waswasah
Frequently, obsessive whispers are rooted in one's disobedience. Thus, one should turn to repentance and righteousness.
⑧ Ignoring and Disregarding the Waswasah
Do not pay attention to these intrusive thoughts, as acknowledging them strengthens their grip on the heart.
⑨ Adopting a State of Heedlessness Towards Waswasah
Let the thoughts fade by treating them with indifference until they gradually weaken and disappear.
⑩ Seeking Psychological Counseling
Especially from those who are trustworthy in both religious and academic knowledge, to help in dealing with persistent waswasah.
