“I Am the Son of Two Sacrificed Ones” – An Analysis of Its Authenticity

The famous attribution is:


"I am the son of two sacrificed ones (ذبیحین)."
This refers to:


Sayyidunā Ismāʿīl عليه السلام
The Prophet’s ﷺ father, ʿAbdullāh


It is commonly understood that Prophet Ismāʿīl عليه السلام was the first "sacrificed one" in the story of ذبح عظیم (The Great Sacrifice), and ʿAbdullāh was the second, based on the well-known story of ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib’s vow.


📚 This statement is referenced in:
Silsilat al-Aḥādīth al-Ḍaʿīfah by al-Albānī, Hadith no. 331

❖ Authentication of the Statement​


🔍 This statement has no authentic basis in any Hadith with these specific words.

Imām al-Albānī رحمه الله said:



“This statement, with these specific words, has no authentic origin.”

❖ Conclusion​


✔ The statement “I am the son of two sacrificed ones” is not established through any authentic sanad (chain of narration).
✔ Renowned hadith scholar Imām al-Albānī has clearly stated that there is no reliable source for these exact words.
✔ Therefore, while it may reflect a popular understanding or interpretation, it cannot be quoted as an authentic prophetic saying (Hadith).
