Many people say that they performed Salah according to the Ḥanafi method or completed Ḥajj the Ḥanafi way.
The question arises: Is it correct to perform Salah or Ḥajj according to the Ḥanafi method?
Was Islam revealed in the Ḥanafi way?
الحمد لله، والصلاة والسلام علىٰ رسول الله، أما بعد!
“Pray as you have seen me praying”
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"صَلُّوا كَمَا رَأَيْتُمُونِي أُصَلِّي"
“Pray as you have seen me praying.”
Sahih al-Bukhari: 631
This Hadith clearly indicates that only the way of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in Salah is correct.
It is not permissible to perform Salah based on the practice of any Imam, Mujtahid, or juristic school.
It is obligatory to pray strictly according to the actual Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.
“Learn your rituals from me”
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ خُذُوا مَنَاسِكَكُمْ"
“O people, take your rituals (of Hajj) from me.”
Sunan al-Nasa’i 5/270, Hadith: 3064 – authentic chain
Also found in Sahih Muslim: 1297
This Hadith also emphasizes that Ḥajj must only be performed in accordance with the method of the Prophet ﷺ,
not according to the practice of any specific juristic school.
Islam was not revealed in the Ḥanafi way.
Islam was revealed by Allah Almighty in the form of the Qur’an and the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
At the time when Imam Abu Hanifah (رحمه الله) was not even born,
Islam already existed in its complete form.

Salah and Ḥajj must be performed solely according to the method prescribed by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
It is incorrect to base religious practice on the name of a juristic school or personality.
Islam is a complete religion based on the Qur’an and authentic Hadith,
revealed as guidance until the Day of Judgment.
