يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا ﴿4﴾
That Day it will declare its information (about all that happened over it of good or evil).
يَوْمَئِذٍۢ yawma-idhin That Day
تُحَدِّثُ tuḥaddithu it will report
أَخْبَارَهَا akhbārahā its news

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

4. On that Day, it will report all its news [4].

The Testimony of the Earth on the Day of Resurrection:

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah ؓ reports that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited this verse, he asked the Companions رضی اللہ عنہم: "Do you know what its news is?" The Companions رضی اللہ عنہم replied: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He ﷺ said: "Its news is that it will testify about every servant, male and female, regarding what deeds he performed on my back. It will say: On such and such a day, he did such and such deeds. These are its news." [ترمذي، ابواب التفسير]

The people of ancient times might have been astonished at the earth giving such news, but the people of today are witnessing all this with their own eyes in this world. After the invention of video film, this matter is no longer surprising for mankind, in which the entire scene of the incident is presented, and every person's conversation is recorded and the events are connected in such a way that the viewer does not feel that he is watching a film instead of the actual event. The deeds that man is performing in this world—all their films are being prepared. Similarly, every person's voices are preserved in the atmosphere, and the effects of his deeds that are imprinted on the earth—these very things will be presented and narrated by the earth on that day.
