They will swear by Allâh to you (Muslims) when you return to them, that you may turn away from them. So turn away from them. Surely, they are Rijs [i.e. Najas (impure) because of their evil deeds], and Hell is their dwelling place - a recompense for that which they used to earn.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

95. When you return to them, they will swear to you by Allah so that you may turn away from them. So turn away from them [107], for they are impure, and their abode is Hell—a recompense for what they used to earn.

[107]
The Purpose of Swearing Oaths is That They Be Regarded as Muslims:

That is, when they come and present their excuses and begin to swear oaths upon their statements, do not start questioning them in detail or investigating their statements. They are not presenting their excuses so that you may begin questioning them, but rather so that you may overlook their actions and not take any action against them. So, you should completely turn away from them, for they are impure and evil-hearted people. Muslims should not associate with them so that they may become aware of their own misdeeds. The real purpose of their swearing oaths is that you remain pleased with them and that the Muslims’ relations with them remain as they were before. But after their hypocrisy has become fully exposed, it is not permissible for any Muslim to maintain friendship or affectionate relations with them, because Allah will never be pleased with such hypocrites.
