Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. Mention of the People of Thamud:

The second was the people of Thamud, who are also called ‘Ad Thani. They were expert stone carvers. Not only did they make their homes inside mountains, but they had carved entire cities out of stone. Their dwelling was Wadi al-Qura, which lies on the route between Madinah and Tabuk. They too denied the Hereafter, and thus were rebellious against Allah. Allah destroyed them with the punishment of an earthquake and a cry. The earthquake was so severe that cracks and fissures appeared in their stone houses. Then, many of those houses became ruins due to the weight of the mountain, and they themselves died, unable to withstand the earthquake and the cry.
