Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
14. Indeed, your Lord is ever watchful [11].
[11] A "watch" or "ambush" is a place where a person hides in wait for something, so that when it comes within his reach, it gets caught in his trap. The passerby, unaware of his fate and carefree, is suddenly captured. This is exactly the situation of those wrongdoers in opposition to Allah, who do not even realize that there is an entity watching them. They continue to advance boldly in sins until the point comes beyond which Allah does not allow them to go further; at that moment, suddenly, the whip of Allah's punishment descends upon them. And if such a time does not come upon an individual or a nation in this world, then the death of every person is his definite time. As Mujahid رحمه اللہ says, the meaning of "lab al-mirsad" is "ilayhi al-maseer," that is, everyone will return to Him. [بخاري۔ كتاب التفسير]
