إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَفِى ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ﴿18﴾
Verily, this is in the former Scriptures -
إِنَّ inna Indeed
هَـٰذَا hādhā this
لَفِى lafī surely (is) in
ٱلصُّحُفِ l-ṣuḥufi the Scriptures
ٱلْأُولَىٰ l-ūlā [the] former

Indeed, this has been mentioned in the former scriptures [12].

[12] That is, the scriptures that were granted to Sayyiduna Ibrahim and those that were given to Sayyiduna Musa before the Torah (which, according to some opinions, were ten each), contained this subject matter from "Qad aflaha" to "khayr wa abqa." This subject was never abrogated nor changed.
