فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا ﴿17﴾
So give a respite to the disbelievers; deal gently with them for a while.
فَمَهِّلِ famahhili So give respite
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ l-kāfirīna (to) the disbelievers
أَمْهِلْهُمْ amhil'hum Give respite to them
رُوَيْدًۢا ruwaydan little

17. So give the disbelievers respite for a little while [13].

[13] That is, you should be patient for a little while longer. Not much time will pass before the outcome of these people's deeds will become apparent to everyone.
