What is an Easy Reckoning?
An easy reckoning is that the one whose scale of good deeds is heavy will not be questioned about his bad deeds, such as: "Why did you do such and such evil deed? Do you have any excuse for it?" Rather, his mistakes will be overlooked, as is made clear by the following hadith: Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa ؓ narrates that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "On the Day of Resurrection, whoever is called to account will be ruined." I said: "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Allah Almighty says that the one who is given his record in his right hand will be given an easy reckoning." He ﷺ replied: "That will be only a presentation. Their deeds will be shown to them, and whoever is subjected to a detailed reckoning will be ruined." [بخاري۔ كتاب التفسير نيز كتاب العلم۔ باب من سمع شيئا فلم يفهمه۔۔]
