Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

The Meaning of Stretching the Earth:

﴿مُدَّتْ﴾ ﴿مَدَّ﴾ means to stretch something in length and to make it longer. Just as Allah stretches and spreads the shadows or the clouds. It should be clear that this does not mean that Allah will stretch the earth and make it flat. Allah has already spread and lengthened the earth. On that day, only this will happen: all the seas will be dried up and included into the land, which will make the area of the earth four times greater. Then the mountains will be leveled to the ground, and all its high and low places will be made even. In this way, the area of this very earth will become so vast that all the humans born from our master Adam ؑ until the Day of Judgment, and all the generations of jinn until the Day of Judgment, will be gathered together in one place. This very earth will become the plain of resurrection, and it is also possible that for the plain of resurrection, Allah may create another earth besides this one, as is understood from another verse: ﴿يَوْمَ تُبدل الْاَرْضُ غَيْرَ الْاَرْضِ﴾.
