وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ ﴿2﴾
And listens to and obeys its Lord - and it must do so.
وَأَذِنَتْ wa-adhinat And has listened
لِرَبِّهَا lirabbihā to its Lord
وَحُقَّتْ waḥuqqat and was obligated

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

2. And it will obey its Lord's command, as it rightly should. [1]

[1] The meaning of ﴿اَذنَ لَهٗ﴾ is to listen to someone's command or statement attentively or to listen with focus so that the command may be obeyed immediately. It should be noted that, except for jinn and humans, all things in the universe are always ready to comply with the creative command of Allah Almighty. They have not been given the choice to disobey the command; in other words, the obedience of these things is involuntary. The meaning is that when the sky is commanded to split, it will do so without any hesitation or objection.
