Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
1. When the sky is split apart [1] [2],
[1] Here, one should keep in mind the hadith narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), in which he said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Whoever wishes to see the Day of Resurrection with his own eyes, let him recite At-Takweer, Al-Infitar, and Al-Inshiqaq. [ترمذي۔ ابواب التفسير] [2] The meaning of ﴿اِنْفَطَرَتْ﴾﴿فطر﴾ is to split something lengthwise in such a way that a fissure appears in it, and “futoor” means fissure. In this sense, the meaning of ﴿انفطر﴾ is also correct as “to be split” or “to be torn apart.” Whatever the case, this will cause fissures to appear in the sky.
