Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

50. If only you could see when the angels are taking the souls of those disbelievers who were killed [55], striking their faces and their backs, and saying, "Taste now the punishment of the burning fire."

[55] In terms of the context, the meaning is that in this verse, the address is directed towards those disbelievers who were killed in the Battle of Badr, as is apparent from the translation. However, the ruling is general. Such an event can happen to all disbelievers: at the time of their death, the angels may strike their faces and backs, give them the news of the punishment of Hell, and say that this punishment is a result of their own evil deeds, and that otherwise, Allah Almighty has no desire to punish them.
