Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
44. Its knowledge is confined to your Lord [28].
[28] These disbelievers have made a strange mockery of this matter, for they often ask you the same question: when will the Day of Resurrection come? However, this matter is beyond the scope of your knowledge. No matter how much they persist in this question and trouble you regarding it, ultimately the answer will always be that only Allah has knowledge of this matter, and knowing it is not practically beneficial. For example, every person has the notion that before dying, he should accomplish such and such task, even though no one except Allah knows the time of his death. Therefore, the practical aspect of belief in the Resurrection is that a person, in this worldly life which is a place of trial, should perform such deeds that will prove beneficial for him.
