Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

[16] The Rebellion of Pharaoh:
After witnessing this miracle, Pharaoh and his courtiers were convinced that Mosesؑ was indeed a messenger of Allah. However, the problem was that accepting this would require all of them to relinquish their power and positions and become obedient followers of Mosesؑ, which for them was like death. Therefore, they tried to convince the common people that this was not a miracle granted by Allah, but rather a feat of magic. To make this lie appear true, they devised the scheme of having the most skilled magicians from across the country publicly compete with Mosesؑ. Pharaoh also offered great incentives to the magicians. But when the magicians were defeated in the arena and publicly declared that this was not a feat of magic, but a miracle granted by Allah Almighty, and that they believed in the Lord of Moses and Aaron (peace be upon them), Pharaoh and his courtiers were thoroughly disgraced in front of the entire assembly.
