سُوْرَةُ النَّازِعَاتِ
Surah An-Naazi'aat (79) — Ayah 20
فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلْـَٔايَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ ﴿20﴾

Then [Mûsâ (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles).

Pharaoh's Demand for a Miracle:
Despite this extremely gentle conversation and even after understanding the matter, Pharaoh was absolutely unwilling to relinquish his power and arrogant ways. He asked whether Mosesؑ could present any sign from Allah in support of his claim to prophethood. Mosesؑ answered this question in the affirmative, and in the full court, when he threw his staff on the ground, it turned into a serpent, which greatly intimidated and terrified Pharaoh and all his courtiers. Eventually, Pharaoh pleaded with Mosesؑ to quickly take control of the serpent. So, he stepped forward and caught it, and it turned back into the same staff as before.
