Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
1. What are they asking one another about [1]?
[1] To the disbelievers of Makkah, the concept and belief in the Day of Judgment was a strange thing. When the Quran openly proclaimed that the Day of Judgment will indeed come, and that after you have decayed and mixed with the dust, you will be resurrected and your deeds will be questioned, they began to mock it. They would converse among themselves in front of the Muslims and the Prophet of Islam, saying, "What is this Day of Judgment? How can we be brought back to life after we have mixed with the dust? Until now, no dead person has ever come back to life. Then what kind of impossible thing is this, and when will it come?" These were the very questions that became the subject of their interest. They would ask such questions to the Muslims, to the Last Prophet ﷺ, and among themselves, and their purpose in this was to provoke the Muslims.
