Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
10. And the mountains will be blown away, turned to dust [5].
[5] In these three verses, three signs of the Day of Resurrection are mentioned. One is that the stars which you see twinkling in the sky will have their light taken away. They will become dim and appear as dull, stained spots, and in other places it is said that they will fall as if someone has shaken and thrown them away. The second sign is that this blue canopy of the sky which you see above your heads, and in whose smoothness and uniformity you see no difference, will develop cracks and fissures. The mutual attraction of the stars and planets, by which this cosmic system is maintained, will come to an end. These two signs will certainly occur in the sky, and the third sign will be seen on the earth: the roots of the mighty and solid creation like mountains will become loose in the earth. One part will fall upon another, and the long chains of mountains will be shattered into pieces. Then the matter will not end there, but the wind will scatter these shattered particles of the mountains.
