Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

9. (And they say to them,) "We feed you only for the sake of Allah's pleasure; we desire neither reward [12] from you nor thanks."

Separate Rulings for the Benefactor and the Benefited:

Among the most exalted and lofty teachings of Islam is this command: Islam has taught those who do good to others that they should not expect any kind of compensation, reward, or even thanks from the one upon whom the favor is done. And the one upon whom the favor is done is taught that he must express gratitude to the benefactor. Even the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ﴿من لا يشكر الناس لا يشكر الله﴾ (i.e., whoever does not thank people, how can he thank Allah?). Although the demand of truth, justice, and fairness is that the benefactor should be thanked, now the benefactor is taught not to expect even thanks for his favor, and the one upon whom the favor is done is taught that, firstly, he should try to repay the favor, otherwise, he must at least express gratitude. In this way, such an atmosphere is established in society that promotes love and harmony between the needy and the wealthy.
