[21] The Proportion in the Birth of Boys and Girls and the Refutation of Materialism:
Some materialists and naturalists do not consider the creation of man in the mother's womb to be a manifestation of Allah's perfect power. Rather, they regard it as a natural phenomenon and the result of coincidences. Now the question is: as a result of coincidences, it could also happen that in some era of humanity, only boys are born and no girls are born, and conversely, it is also possible that in some era only girls are born and no boys are born. In this way, the human race would come to an end. Should it also be considered a result of coincidences that in every era, Allah creates boys and girls in such proportion that the human race does not become extinct?
