سُوْرَةُ الْمُدَّثِّرِ
Surah Al-Muddaththir (74) — Ayah 56
وَمَا يَذْكُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ هُوَ أَهْلُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ وَأَهْلُ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ ﴿56﴾
Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
And they will not receive admonition unless Allâh wills; He (Allâh) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilâh (god) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins).

56. And they will not accept admonition unless Allah wills [26]. He alone is worthy to be feared, and He alone is worthy to forgive [27].
[26] But Allah grants guidance only to the one who himself seeks guidance. And those who themselves wish to remain far from guidance, Allah does not forcibly grant guidance to such people.
[27] The best explanation of this part of the verse is clarified by the following hadith: Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik ؓ narrates: In the explanation of this verse, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, says: "I am worthy that people should fear Me, and whoever fears Me and does not associate anyone with Me, then it is befitting for Me to forgive him." [ترمذي۔ ابواب التفسير۔ سورة المدثر]
