Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
5. Indeed, We are about to send down upon you a weighty word [5].
[5] What is the Great Responsibility?
By "weighty word" is meant those commands which were to be given to youﷺ in connection with bringing about a revolution in society. First of all, youﷺ had to act upon these commands yourself and present a practical example before others, then present this call before the whole world and stand up against them. You had to strive against polytheistic beliefs and the ignorant civilization and culture. In a society where people had been enemies of each other for centuries, you had to create an atmosphere of love, harmony, and brotherhood. Then, by uniting them, you had to confront the entire world of disbelief, and with Allah's mercy and help, make the religion of Islam prevail over all false religions. These were the great responsibilities about which you were informed through ﴿سَنُلْقِيْعَلَيْكَقَوْلًاثَـقِيْلًا﴾, and in order to train you for this duty, youﷺ were commanded to spend a portion of the night in worship of Allah.
