Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
4. Or add to it, and recite the Qur’an with measured recitation [4].
[4] What Things Are Included in Tartil:
﴿رَتِّلْ﴾ means the excellence, adornment, and goodness of something, and ﴿رتل﴾ means to pronounce a word with ease and proper proportion. It also means to recite with a pleasant voice, or to recite with melodiousness and to observe the correct pronunciation of the letters, and to recite each word slowly and separately. The benefit of reciting in this manner is that, along with the pronunciation of each word, a person can reflect upon its meanings, and these meanings gradually settle into the heart. Thus, Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Umm Salamah ؓ narrates that it was the habit of the Prophet ﷺ that he would pray at night, then sleep for as long as he had prayed, then pray for as long as he had slept, then after that sleep for as long as he had prayed, until morning came. Then, describing the manner of his recitation, she said that his ﷺ recitation was distinct, letter by letter. [ترمذی۔ ابواب فضائل القرآن۔ باب کیف کانت قراۃ النبیﷺ] It is also narrated from the same Sayyidah Umm Salamah ؓ that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would separate his recitation. He ﷺ would recite ﴿اَلْحَمْدُلِلّٰهِرَبِّالْعَالَمِيْنَ﴾, then pause, then recite ﴿الرحمٰنِالرّحِيْم﴾, then pause, then recite ﴿مَالك يوم الدِّيْن﴾. [ترمذی۔ ابواب القراءات عن رسول اللہﷺ]
