‘And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allâh, after listening to this Qur’ân), and of us some are Al-Qâsitûn (disbelievers - those who have deviated from the Right Path)’. And whosoever has embraced Islâm (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allâh), then such have sought the Right Path."

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

14. And that: Among us are some who are Muslims (obedient), and some who are unjust. And whoever submits (to Allah), then such people have chosen the path of righteousness [12].

[12] ﴿تَحَرَّوْا﴾ ﴿اَحرٰي﴾ means more deserving, and ﴿تَحَرَّي﴾ means to seek the thing that is more suitable and more deserving. To seek the better of two things. That is, the believing jinn, after returning to their people, are explaining to them that indeed, some of us are obedient and some are disobedient and astray. And the truth is that those who have embraced Islam have acted wisely. Choosing the path of guidance itself is proof of their better choice. Because those who choose any other paths besides this straight path will remain in loss and will become fuel for Hell. At this point, the speech or sermon of the jinn, which they delivered to their brethren after believing, comes to an end. Thus, many jinn believed in the Prophet ﷺ, and after this incident, on several occasions, the jinn came to his ﷺ noble presence.
