Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

The Points of Nuh’s Call:

When a prophet is sent, the very first to believe in his own prophethood is himself. After that, he announces his prophethood before his people. After this introduction, he conveys Allah’s message to the people. Nuh (peace be upon him) also announced his prophethood in these words: ﴿اِنِّيْ لَكُمْ نَذِيْرٌ مُّبِيْنٌ﴾ Then, after this, he stated three things: (1) Worship only Allah and abandon the worship of idols, (2) If you fear, then fear only Allah; there is no need to fear idols. They cannot harm you in any way. Fear Allah and obey His commands, (3) And the way to obey Allah’s commands is to obey me. If you do these three things, Allah will forgive your past sins and allow you to live out your natural lifespan so that you may perform righteous deeds and be saved from the punishment of the Hereafter. But if you do not accept these things, then punishment will descend upon you even before your natural death, and at that time neither will your belief benefit you nor will you be granted any further respite. Therefore, in the time you have been given, carefully consider your benefit and loss and take heed.

The Various Responses of the People:

This was the call that our master Nuh (peace be upon him) presented before his people. And it is this kind of call that becomes the starting point of confrontation between truth and falsehood. Thus, the chiefs of the people stood arrogantly in opposition to our master Nuh (peace be upon him). Sometimes they would say: Oh! What difference is there between us and you? You are also a needy human like us; you too need food and drink just as we do. Then why should we obey you? Sometimes they would say: You say such strange and unheard-of things that we should abandon the worship of our idols. Stop speaking such madness. Sometimes they would say: If you do not stop insulting our gods, they will beat you so badly that you will not be able to get up again. And sometimes they would say: Why don’t you bring the punishment you are threatening us with? And sometimes they would say: Nuh! These few foolish people you have gathered with you are our lowly and despicable ones. On the strength of these, you demand that we also obey you? In short, the discussions between our master Nuh and his people of this kind spanned eight or nine hundred years, which have been overlooked at this point. The result of this long period of preaching, as understood by our master Nuh (peace be upon him) is what he presented before his Lord in these words.
