فَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَـٰلَـٰتِ رَبِّى وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ ۖ فَكَيْفَ ءَاسَىٰ عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ كَـٰفِرِينَ ﴿93﴾
Then he (Shu‘aib) turned from them and said: "O my people! I have indeed conveyed my Lord’s Messages unto you and I have given you good advice. Then how can I sorrow for the disbelieving people’s (destruction)."
فَتَوَلَّىٰ fatawallā So he turned away
عَنْهُمْ ʿanhum from them
وَقَالَ waqāla and said
يَـٰقَوْمِ yāqawmi O my people
لَقَدْ laqad Verily
أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ ablaghtukum I (have) conveyed to you
رِسَـٰلَـٰتِ risālāti (the) Messages
رَبِّى rabbī (of) my Lord
وَنَصَحْتُ wanaṣaḥtu and advised
لَكُمْ ۖ lakum [to] you
فَكَيْفَ fakayfa So how could
ءَاسَىٰ āsā I grieve
عَلَىٰ ʿalā for
قَوْمٍۢ qawmin a people
كَـٰفِرِينَ kāfirīna (who are) disbelievers

93. So Shu‘ayb left them, saying: “O my people! I did indeed convey to you the messages of my Lord and gave you sincere advice to the best of my ability. So how could I grieve [99] for a people who persistently denied (the truth)?”

Address to the People Before the Punishment:

That is, regret is felt for one who perishes due to forgetfulness or unintentionally, but how can there be regret for one who, despite being warned of the consequences, continues to act arrogantly and does not even care to listen to words of goodwill for his own benefit? He has knowingly thrown himself into destruction.
