Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
They said, “Have you come to us so that we may worship Allah alone and abandon what our forefathers used to worship [74]? Then bring upon us what you threaten us with, if you are truthful.”
[74] The Excuse of Following the Ancestors:
In response to these admonitions, the people gave the same answer that polytheists generally give: "How can we abandon the religion of our forefathers, when our ancestors were much more pious and learned than us? We will never accept what you say, and if you are truly truthful, then bring upon us the punishment you threaten us with." It should be remembered that such answers are usually given by the chiefs of the people, and why they are so stubborn has already been explained. As for some weaker individuals, there are always some who believe in every prophet. This was also the case with the people of Sayyiduna Hud (peace be upon him).
