Surah Al-A'raaf (7) — Ayah 206
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ عِندَ رَبِّكَ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَيُسَبِّحُونَهُۥ وَلَهُۥ يَسْجُدُونَ ۩ ﴿206﴾

Surely, those who are with your Lord (angels) are never too proud to perform acts of worship to Him, but they glorify His Praise and prostrate themselves before Him.

206. Surely, those (angels) who are near your Lord are never too proud [205] to worship Him; they glorify Him and prostrate before Him [206].
[205] Because arrogance is the work of Satan, whereas the work of the angels is that they humble themselves before Allah Almighty, admit their mistakes, and are constantly engaged in His glorification and sanctification, as has already been mentioned in Surah Al-Baqarah in the story of Adam ؑ and Iblis.
[206] At the end of this verse, Muslims are also commanded to perform prostration so that their state may become like that of the close angels. Thus: Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah ؓ says that the Prophet ﷺ said: When the son of Adam recites a verse of prostration and performs prostration, Satan withdraws weeping and says, "Woe to me! The son of Adam was commanded to prostrate, so he prostrated and Paradise is for him; I was commanded, but I refused, and Hell is for me." [ مسلم كتاب الايمان۔ باب بيان اطلاق اسم الكفر على من ترك الصلوة]
Prostrations of Recitation:
There are 14 places in the Noble Quran where verses of prostration occur. However, there is a difference of opinion regarding the obligation of the prostration of recitation. Some scholars consider it obligatory, while others consider it Sunnah or recommended. Furthermore, according to some scholars, neither ablution nor facing the Qiblah nor saying salam is necessary for the prostration of recitation, and it can even be performed by bowing the head while riding. However, it is preferable that the prostration of recitation be performed with the same etiquette as in prayer, that is, with ablution and facing the Qiblah.
