Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

194. Those whom you call upon besides Allah are servants [192] like yourselves. So call upon them and let them answer you, if you are truthful.

[192]
Those Who Cannot Hear the Call Cannot Be Deities:

These are the second type of deities, that is, those prophets and elders who have passed away and are called upon as fulfillers of needs and removers of difficulties, because the word "servants" (`ibād`) is not used for stone idols. And to refute their divinity, it is sufficient that when you call upon them, they cannot even respond, and they are just like you, not a creation superior to you.
