سُوْرَةُ الْاَعْرَافِ
Surah Al-A'raaf (7) — Ayah 134
وَلَمَّا وَقَعَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّجْزُ قَالُوا۟ يَـٰمُوسَى ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ ۖ لَئِن كَشَفْتَ عَنَّا ٱلرِّجْزَ لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ لَكَ وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ مَعَكَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ﴿134﴾
Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
And when the punishment fell on them they said: "O Mûsâ (Moses)! Invoke your Lord for us because of His Promise to you. If you remove the punishment from us, we indeed shall believe in you, and we shall let the Children of Israel go with you."

And whenever a punishment [130] befell them, they would say, "O Moses! Pray to your Lord for us by virtue of the promise He has made to you. If you remove the punishment from us, we will surely believe in you and let the Children of Israel go with you."

The Sixth Punishment of Plague:
That is, it became the habit of this nation that whenever any of the aforementioned five punishments would descend, they would immediately plead with Sayyiduna Musa ؑ for supplication and say that according to the promise your Lord has made with you, your supplication will surely be accepted, and if, through your supplication, the punishment is lifted from us, then we will accept your demand and send the Children of Israel with you. In this way, this incident happened five times, and each time Pharaoh's people broke their promise. Some commentators have interpreted the word "rijz" here not as punishment but as plague, and a hadith also supports this meaning. In this regard, this was the sixth punishment upon the people of Pharaoh. It is said that when the punishment of plague descended upon the people of Pharaoh, countless of their people began to die, and mourning spread in every house. During this time, Sayyiduna Musa ؑ was commanded to migrate, to take the Children of Israel with him by night and set out towards Syria. Since the people of Pharaoh were preoccupied with their own distress, they could not immediately pursue them, and when Pharaoh set out in pursuit with his army, they had already reached near the Red Sea.
