It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
9. And Pharaoh [7], and those before him, and the people of the overturned cities—all committed sins.
[7] The people of ‘Ad raised the slogan ﴿مَنْاَشَدُّمِنَّاقُوَّةً﴾, and Pharaoh was the one who raised the slogan of ﴿اَنَارَبُّكُمُالْاَعْلٰي﴾. When Allah drowned Pharaoh and the people of Pharaoh in the sea, it was then that he realized how true he was in his claim to divinity and how helpless he was that day. Besides the people of Pharaoh, many other nations also denied the belief in the Hereafter. Then, when they adopted the path of rebellion, as a result, they too were destroyed and ruined. Not a single person from any of these nations survived; all of them were annihilated. And the greatest sin common among all of them was that they outright denied the messengers and the signs of Allah.
