Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

43. It is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds [24].

The Difference Between a Messenger and a Poet, and the Reasons Why You Are Not a Poet:

That is, by all that you see and all that you do not see, I make all of these a witness to the fact that this Quran is revealed from Allah, the Lord of all worlds. It is not authored by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ or by anyone else, as you keep alleging. And if you reflect even a little, based at least on the things you see, you will realize by yourself that this Quran can neither be the word of a poet nor of a soothsayer. In the flights of a poet’s imagination, every good or bad aspect of the field of life can be present. The influence of the environment dominates his temperament, and since the majority of society is misguided, his imagination also soars along those paths. Whereas the Quran shows only the path of goodness upon goodness. Another difference is that in the thoughts and ideas of a poet, and in the structure of his speech, changes occur due to maturity of age and intellect, experience, and practice. But the Word of Allah is completely free from such change and flaw. What it presented on the first day, whatever it presented after that, was always in support of the initial concept. And in its eloquence, fluency, arrangement of words, and style of expression, there has never been any difference. Moreover, whatever boasts a poet makes and whatever bragging he does, he temporarily creates a stir in people’s emotions, but he never acts upon his own boasting, nor can he. Whereas the Messenger who presents the Quran also acts upon whatever he presents. Then how can you say that this Quran is poetry and the Messenger who invites to it is a poet?

The Reasons Why You Are Not a Soothsayer:

This Quran is also not the speech of a soothsayer because the source of soothsaying is the jinn and evil spirits, who overhear something from the higher assembly and convey it to the soothsayers, mixing truth with falsehood. Therefore, the news of the unseen that they provide is often incorrect, and only occasionally does some news turn out to be true. Whereas the source of the news in the Quran is divine revelation, whose being proven false is impossible. Many such prophecies are mentioned in the Quran, and many are also in the hadith, some of which are being fulfilled before your very eyes in their due time. Another difference between a soothsayer and a prophet is that a soothsayer only gives news of the unseen, whether true or false, whereas the purpose of the Quran and the Messenger’s mission is to guide mankind in all aspects of life. Then how can you say that this is the speech of a soothsayer? If you yourself reflect even a little, you will realize by yourself that the Quran can neither be the speech of a poet nor of a soothsayer. But alas, you do not reflect at all. You are only concerned with making some accusation or another.
