Surah Al-Haaqqa (69) — Ayah 34
وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ ﴿34﴾

There Are Two Fundamental Sins from Which All Other Sins Emerge:
Both major categories of crimes were found in his record of deeds or charge sheet. He neither believed in Allah nor cared for His commands and prohibitions. It should be clear that if a person verbally acknowledges the existence of Allah but does not believe in the Hereafter and in being held accountable before Him, then his verbal acknowledgment of Allah’s existence will be of no benefit. The disbelievers of Makkah acknowledged the existence of Allah but did not believe in the Hereafter, so Allah declared them disbelievers, and this crime alone is sufficient to make one deserving of the punishment of Hell. The second type of crimes are those which apparently relate to the rights of people, although the rights of Allah are also present in them. Their common form is that people should show sympathy to one another, help each other in times of hardship, and provide financial assistance. But this person was so miserly that not only did he not help anyone, he did not even encourage others to help the needy or urge them to feed the poor.
