Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

16. Do you feel secure from Him who is in the heaven [20] that He will not cause the earth to swallow you, and then suddenly it begins to shake?

[20]
Who is in the sky?

The Divine Being, Allah. That is, Allah has made the earth subservient to you; work on it and take whatever benefits you can from it, but do not become fearless of that Being who is the Creator and Owner of you and all these things. Remember Him at all times. It is entirely possible that you may be digging somewhere in the earth or engaged in mining, and you suddenly sink into it. Or an earthquake may strike the earth. The earth may split open and you may be swallowed up in it. And it is also possible that He may send upon you such a severe windstorm containing stones and pebbles, and it may utterly destroy you. Therefore, when you obtain Allah’s blessings from the earth, you should also express gratitude to Him, and if you are ungrateful and show arrogance, then you may meet the same fate as the previous nations encountered.
