Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

He is the One Who made the earth subservient [18] to you, so walk in its paths and eat of His provision. And to Him you will be resurrected [19].

[18] ﴿ذَلُوْلٌ﴾ ﴿ذل﴾ means to be weak and powerful, and ﴿ذَلُوْلٌ﴾ means for something to willingly abandon its rebelliousness and become obedient and submissive. And this word expresses the aspect of a person, through his effort, making something subservient to himself and that thing becoming subservient. The meaning is that you can obtain whatever benefits you wish from the earth through your efforts. You can do farming on it. You can extract minerals and other treasures buried within it. You can travel upon it and gain commercial benefits.
[19]
Proofs of Allah Almighty’s Power:

That is, take as many benefits from the earth as you can. But you must always keep in mind that after death you will be presented before Allah, so while taking benefits from the earth, you should not deprive others of their rights.
