وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِىٓ أَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ ﴿10﴾
And they will say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we would not have been among the dwellers of the blazing Fire!"
وَقَالُوا۟ waqālū And they will say
لَوْ law If
كُنَّا kunnā we had
نَسْمَعُ nasmaʿu listened
أَوْ aw or
نَعْقِلُ naʿqilu reasoned
مَا not
كُنَّا kunnā we (would) have been
فِىٓ among
أَصْحَـٰبِ aṣḥābi (the) companions
ٱلسَّعِيرِ l-saʿīri (of) the Blaze
