Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
1. Blessed [2] is He in whose hand is the dominion [3], and He is over all things All-Powerful.
[1] The Virtue of Surah Al-Mulk:
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah ؓ says that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: In the Quran, there is a surah of thirty verses. This surah interceded for a man until he was forgiven, and that surah is ﴿تَبَارَكَالَّذِيبِيَدِهِالْمُلْكُ﴾ (Al-Mulk). [ترمذی۔ ابواب فضائل القرآن۔ باب ماجاء فی سورۃ الملک] Sayyiduna Jabir ؓ says that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would not go to sleep until he recited Surah Alif Lam Meem Tanzil and ﴿تَبَارَكَالَّذِيبِيَدِهِالْمُلْكُ﴾. [ترمذي۔ ايضاً]
[2] The Literal Meaning of ﴿تَبَارَكَ﴾:
The meaning of ﴿تَبَارَكَ﴾ (barakah) is the establishment of goodness in something from Allah Almighty (Mufradat), that is, when a deed is done, the name of barakah is that it yields the maximum expected benefit, provided that the deed has an aspect of goodness. And that thing in which this aspect of goodness proves fruitful is called mubarak (blessed). And the word Tabaraka is specific to Allah Almighty and is used only for those good deeds that are specific to Allah Almighty. In this verse, it means that every single thing in this universe that Allah Almighty created for a better purpose is fulfilling that purpose in the best possible way; therefore, the Being of Allah is tabarak, i.e., full of barakah.
[3] ﴿الْمُلْكُ﴾ means complete sovereignty, rule, and authority over everything in the universe. And such power that nothing can stand before the command of Allah.
