Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

12. And (the example of) Mary, the daughter of Imran, who guarded her chastity [24]. Then We breathed into her of Our spirit [25], and she confirmed the words [26] of her Lord and His scriptures, and she was among the devoutly obedient [27].

[24] That is, she did not have any husband. Thus, Lady Maryam preserved her chastity in both lawful and unlawful circumstances and remained pure.

[25] That is, a spirit was breathed into her through an angel. Sayyiduna Jibreel ؑ blew into her collar, as a result of which conception took place. From this conception, Sayyiduna Isa ؑ was born. This story has already been mentioned in great detail in the second ruku of Surah Maryam.

[26] By this are meant the words that the angels spoke to Lady Maryam. The details of the conversation between the angels and Lady Maryam have already been mentioned in the fifth ruku of Surah Aal-e-Imran. Thus, she submitted herself to the severe trial that Allah had decided for her. And it was because of this that she attained this great status. And by the Books of Allah, it could mean the Torah, the Gospel, or the previous scriptures. Thus, Lady Maryam affirmed all these books.

[27] One meaning of this is that Lady Maryam performed the obedience and worship of Allah with full humility, complete attention, and satisfaction of the heart. The second meaning is that her entire family, to which she belonged, was also like this.
