So keep your duty to Allâh and fear Him as much as you can; listen and obey, and spend in charity; that is better for yourselves. And whosoever is saved from his own covetousness, then they are the successful ones.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

So fear Allah as much as you are able [24], and listen and obey, and spend (in charity); that is better for yourselves. And whoever is saved from the greed [25] of his own soul—such are the successful.

Accountability Will Only Be to the Extent of Human Ability:

From this sentence, it is understood that a person is only responsible for avoiding sins and fulfilling commands to the extent of his ability. The same subject is expressed in Surah Al-Baqarah as follows: ﴿لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللّٰهُ نَفْسًا اِلَّا وُسْعَهَا﴾ [282:2] That is, in situations where a person is compelled, there is no accountability upon him. Accountability is only in the case where, despite having the ability, a person does not obey Allah. As for the matter of a person making an incorrect judgment about himself—for example, he assumes that a certain command is beyond his ability, whereas it is actually within his capacity—then he will certainly be held accountable for such a thing, because Allah has knowledge of everything.
